Long term rental dedicated for locals or residents is never a problem though and a standard rental contract is usually enough.
It is one of the first things you should apply for if you are buying property. There would be the possibility to sign a deed just with the presentation of the Application / granting of the NIE but we prefer you to have it in hand on the day of signing. You apply Online here: Application NIE at the Spanish Government, at our local Notary (in person! Very simple and efficient) or at your country’s Spanish embassy which we would suggest! Costs are around 150 € per issued NIE.
